The One Twenty Seven Project Family & Elder Support Program
Big Pine, CA
About the Organization
The One Twenty Seven Project is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2018 to serve individuals and families in the Big Pine area. Founded by Raul and Christine Villasenor, the organization is rooted in compassion and committed to meeting immediate needs while helping community members move toward long-term stability and independence.
The Need
In rural communities like Big Pine, many residents - particularly elders, single mothers, and low-income
families - face barriers to essential services, including:
• Limited transportation to medical appointments and basic needs
• Food insecurity and financial hardship
• Unsafe or unmaintained living conditions
• Limited access to supportive resources and skill-building opportunities
Without intervention, these challenges can lead to worsening health, housing instability, and long-term economic hardship.
